1 September

Just back from lovely camping holiday in North West France, bit chilly at night, and perhaps wine was bit too nice but great.
House looked lovely on return so pleased to be back. Children over-excited today, just need to get them to calm down, without resorting to time out every five minutes. Also weird smell od ?poss dead mice in bedroom to freak me out.
Massive spider by the front door, and caught the end of a news report yesterday about a group of spiders making a giant web together. If I allow myself a little paranoia I am positive the spiders are against us, and will prove it soon.

Middle of Summer

Can't believe we're in the middle of summer and its cold and wet. House is full of problems, we have slugs getting in the kitchen, thought we'd sorted it then noticed two last night by the skirting board in the hall. Starting to get a touch paranoid that the foundations of the house is just some giant slug with heaps of babies. Tempting to just wash floors with salt. I used some blue killer slug pellets outside after the nicer organic ones did not seem to work. The killer ones are hideous, slugs sort of dissolve in a heap of their own slime, then go all hard.
Found a flea in daughter's potty yesterday too - where's that from?

Start of summer

First day blogging, just moved to new tatty house in tatty sea side town. House is over 100 years old, previous owners were sort of arty but not very practical...have weird grapes painted in living room and Teenage Mutant Turtle in dining room. Love it though, its our first real family home - first time buy was 2 bed flat that I never loved, and never knew why I did not fall for it. I've falled for this old house though, even with the damp, slugs, weird smells, and holes in walls.
